A3 methodology: going beyond process improvement

Purpose This technological article deals with a case study to implement an improvement reduce the machine setup of industrial process, in addition development people using A3 methodology for problem-solving. Design/methodology/approach As research method, action was used single-case applied motorcycle production company, concept report problem-solving as theoretical basis. Findings The implementation process resulted reduction 70.4% preparation time (setup) machines, thus eliminating need add third shift. Research limitations/implications It has been only one so it lacks feasibility check be implemented other companies.
